An Exhilarating Experience
White water rafting on the River Garry is arguably the best, and most reliable rafting experience in Scotland.
White water rafting in Fort William on the River Garry is an exhilarating experience, with fantastic rapids with names such as Double or Quits, Surfs Up, Hey Diddle Diddle, and the Tunnel of Love. Big bouncy waves, drops, stoppers and plenty of surfing are the order of the day.
Once you're ready to go, you'll be transported from the meeting point to the river access point, where you'll get on the water for your first exciting run. This is only the warm-up, though. You'll then be taken back upriver for a second run, but this time, having had a bit of practice, your guide will be making things a bit more interesting for you! You have been warned!

Other rivers can be used for white water rafting near Fort William, but rain is required to get them into condition. They can rise and fall extremely quickly due to the nature of our amazing landscape. Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee the weather and river levels, which is why the main white water rafting in Fort William happens when the dam releases. The dam on the River Garry releases water from April to October, normally on a Thursday with some Saturdays available too.
White water rafting on the River Garry is a classic grade 3 and 4 white water experience. If you are unable to make one of the dam release dates, then you may want to consider white water kayaking as a great alternative, which needs less water.
