Offshore Adventure
Our Grassholm Seabird Spectacular boat trips run daily, weather
permitting. We head offshore to the island of Grassholm, the whole time looking for
Common Dolphins, Risso Dolphins and Porpoise which are seen fairly regularly on the way to Grassholm, with the occasional sighting of a whale for the lucky ones.
There are usually good sightings of other seabirds such as puffins, and shearwaters on route. The closer we get
to the RSPB island of Grassholm the more Gannets we see, a spectacular sight,
home to thousands of pairs of breeding gannets between late feb and late September, where at the height of the breeding season there can be ten of thousands of gannets using the Island, making it one of the largest Atlantic gannet
colony in the world!
