The most famous sale ring in the world
With our special Tattersalls package you will start your day with a guided tour of the Newmarket Gallops where you will see some of the 3,000 racehorse's exercising on the heath followed by a hearty breakfast at The Tack Room and a guided tour of The National Horseracing Museum.
You will then be taken up to Tattersalls to have a behind-the-scenes tour and learn what bloodstock agents and buyers are looking for when picking a horse to bid on. You will get to see what goes on behind the scenes on your guided tour before you sit in the famous Tattersalls ring and witness the adrenaline and excitement as horses are paraded and bid on for thousands of Guineas.

8.00am Meet Tour Guide at Tattersalls' Highflyer Cafe
Departing to Warren Hill
8.15am Tour of Famed Warren Hill Gallops
A guided tour of the famed Newmarket training grounds. See some of the town's equine residents going about their daily exercise and learn about the history of the gallops.
9.30am Breakfast at The Tack Room
Head to the National Horseracing Museum where you'll enjoy a delicious breakfast at The Tack Room.
10.15am Guided Tour of the National Horseracing Museum
Enjoy a guided tour of the National Horseracing Museum, which is situated in King Charles II's sporting palace and stables, and spans over 5-acres in the heart of Newmarket.
11.45am Tattersalls Behind the Scenes Tour
Enjoy a behind the scenes tour of this prestigious sales ring, where you'll learn all about what bloodstock agents and buyers are looking for in potential purchases. Your guide will take you behind the scenes in the stable yards, where you will see horses pulled out for inspection. Your guide will explain what a buyer will be looking for before taking you up to the parade ring where you can pick out your favourites. You'll then get to sit in the famous Tattersalls ring and witness the adrenaline and excitement as horses are paraded to potential buyers, before bidding commences.
Please be advised that tours depart promptly at the scheduled start time so we recommend arriving at the meeting point a minimum of 15 minutes in advance.
Booking Info
The meeting point is outside the Highflyer Cafe situated within the Highflyer car park at Tattersalls. You are free to park anywhere within the Tattersalls car park for the duration of your tour.
